Now it’s time to redeem your $20 sexy little gift that they gave away weeks back. Head on to Victoria’s Secret website and put in the cart these two products:

Add a Bombshell 1.7 oz Eau De Parfum, $52

Add a Bombshell Lotion 8.4 oz, $25

4 Ways to Recognize if Your Handbag is Made of Authentic Leather

Handbag manufacturers nowadays are quite good at leatherwork. So much so that it is not that easy for consumers to differentiate authentic leather from fake leather. A full-grain leather tote bag under a hundred bucks is tempting but will leave you with feelings of uncertainty. Real leather is normally pricey because it takes a lot of time and effort to produce just a single handbag. So should you give in to that elegantly looking handbag that is on sale at the department store?

If you are planning to buy leather, you have to know how to identify real from artificial in able to avoid any disappointments regarding your purchase. You can tell the difference between real and fake leather by smelling and touching the item. Real leather has a distinctive odor of animals while fake leather smells like vinyl and chemicals. A genuine leather handbag normally feels rough. When you pinch real leather between your fingers, it wrinkles and flexes easily under pressure but it comes back to its original shape. The imperfections are actually a good thing.

But what if you just fall in love with a leather handbag you saw online? Buying leather handbags online requires you to be extra attentive to details. While you cannot smell or feel its texture, there are factors to help you figure out whether the leather you are buying is authentic or not.

  1. Label– authentic leather should indicate the product information, including the form of leather used for the handbag. It should indicate if it is top grain, full grain, or genuine leather. Full grains are the most expensive type because they are closest to the outer skin of the animal while genuine or suede are the cheapest ones because of its least dense texture.
  2. Pattern– Take a close up look at the product. Inspect the design. It is possible for real leather to have an inconsistent pattern. A full-grain leather handbag may retain all of the hide’s original texture and markings.
  3. Finish– Real leather has rougher finish while fake leather has edges that are almost perfect. If a handbag has an extremely glossy finish, it could be made of modern patent leather that is likely to tear over time. Genuine leather may show imperfections and does not come in a wide range of colors.
  4. Price– You can’t always rely on the price of a leather handbag to distinguish its authenticity. Just because it is expensive doesn’t mean it could not be fake. Unfortunately, there are manufacturers who put a premium price tag on artifical leather bags to deceive consumers.

Replica retailers use materials that only contain leather fiber. Bonded leather and bicast leather are the types of leathers to avoid. While it is not easy to spot if a handbag is made of these inorganic leathers, you can easily tell just by smelling them. Bonded leather has a heavy smell due to the chemicals used. They are difficult to repair after damage because they are just scraps of leather glued together to form a piece.

Time can also tell your handbag’s authenticity. Untreated cowhide leather tends to have “patina,” a change in surface that happens to leather over time. A light-colored leather handbag may develop a deeper color because of age, moisture, wear, and sunlight over years of use.

Buy More for the Price of One

There is a new scent for Spring at Victoria’s Secret right now. It is called Tease Flower that costs $58 for a 1.7 fl. oz. Current promo is you get a free full-size tease flower lotion and a bath bomb when you buy any tease flower scent. Okay granted, the freebie is great but what’s even greater is when you buy a tease flower gift set for $70 instead of just one single item that cost too much!

My idea of this deal is, I bought the set which pictured below plus I get the same freebie as above. I had a $15 gift reward from Victoria’s Secret that made my total to come down under $60 including tax. You see, sometimes you’ll have to buy more in order to get more. If just bought that single perfume, all I could bring home that day was three items.

Fortunately for me, my mind acted quickly when I went shopping in VS store that I should just get the set that cost $40 more because I GET MORE OF what could’ve I paid for just one product. In the end, I feel I won!

Year-end Deals

In America, people tend to be busy looking for deals and steals on or after Christmas. Whether online or in-stores, a never-ending deals are expected but it is up to you whether to be tempted to go on a shopping splurge or not. Depends mainly on the budget of a person if she goes shop and drop.

As for me, although I have everything I need as of this moment, I still shop here and there but with limitation and if I have great coupons/gift cards to use.

First photo is the Clinique lipstick set I purchased on December 23,2016. Sold for $25 online and used $15 worth of Macy’s money/gift card, final out of pocket is $11.81 and it’s free shipping. Plus I earned 75 cents for shopping thru ebates before going to the retailer’s website. You should do that too because, ebates cashback can add up.

Second photo is the Victoria’s Secret gift set I bought in-store for 65% off. The pouch with mist and lotion, originally sold for $20, got it for $7, the big gift set was $35, came down to $12 plus. I used my $15 gift reward from them for reaching my minimum points. Ended up paying just $4.80 for both gift sets!

Deals This Week

It always makes my eyes go big when I go in the store and see unexpected clearance sales whether it be food, chocolates, clothing or household items. I would not say no to sales you know! One best example for a really good sale is this Ghirardelli chocolates at Walgreens. From $3.29 down to 89 cents. Mind you, expiry date is until January 2017. A few expire in two months, but hey, it’s chocolate. My daughters will eat them in no time if I let them.

Another great store to go for sale items on food is Kroger. Every Monday, I go there when I have the time to scour for yellow/red stickers on items in dairy, center aisle, seafood and even in produce area. One of my best buys in Kroger is this Hawaiian rolls which is 50% off the original price. I don’t buy it in full price because it is kind of pricey for me. I wish I grabbed two instead of just one in Jalapeno because it is so good!

Not pictured is the third deal I got this week is the price matching of spam canned meat at Walmart, I got 52 pieces of the lite and original flavors for just $1 each, normally $2.68. You wonder why I got so many spams? Half of it will go to my box for the family in the Philippines.

I’m such a sucker when it comes to deals because I want to help my husband by saving money on groceries and anything we need and use in this house.

How I Got 2 Victoria’s Secret Free Full Size Bottle Perfumes

If you frequent in this blog, you would know that I am a big Victoria’s Secret shopper. You would also know the reasons why as I keep writing them over and over again.

It’s the only store I buy my bras, perfumes/mists and lotions, and other stuff from. Last week, I was able to avail their glitch online. Buy 2 sport bras for $29.50 each and entered the promos “EDP4FREE” and the other one I forgot for free shipping. I paid $63 plus including tax and received my two full size bottle of perfumes that would have cost me $110 if I were to buy them in full price. Not only that, I also received .53 cents from Ebates cashback for shopping through their site before checking out Victoria’s Secret site.

I love the new collection of VS sport bra, small size fits me perfectly and the material they used is decent enough to last for long.

2 sport bras and two full size bottle of perfume do not come by often so when I saw it, I did not hesitate to avail the glitch. It’s something that I would always go for when it happens because you would pay more if you were to do this in store.

Besides, free perfume and free shipping codes often are not stackable codes if not for the glitch.

How To Earn Freebies from Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works

I tell you what, I can go to the mall and not spending any dime for items I wear and use everyday, instead, bringing them home for free. Loyalty to one’s store pays off, once you become their loyal customer, rest assured, you will get many freebies ahead of you!

I don’t buy my panties anymore. Most of them are free from PINK by Victoria’s Secret. My bras are all PINK too, although I did not get them for free but at least, I got them at discounted items plus a whole lot more free stuff from them. Same goes with lotions from Bath and Body Works store. I have a couple of travel size BBW lotions free from them as well.

Here’s I do it.

1. Become a member by applying for a Victoria’s Secret or Pink credit card. You can apply in person at their store or online.
2. When you shop in-store, do not hesitate to provide your email and physical address so they can track your purchases and so they can send you brochures, coupons and other promos to your home address in the future.
3. The more you shop, the more you get coupons from them. Once you have your VS credit card, always swipe it for points. Certain points earned will be equivalent to certain reward card in the future when you reach the threshold they set for you.
4. Also, if you choose to shop online. Sign up on EBATES and search for your favorite store through their site to earn cashback when you check out successfully. First time members, receive $ too!

As for Bath and Body Works, it pretty much work the same way as Victoria’s Secret since they are sister companies only I don’t hold a BBW credit card but I do provide my email to them when they ask in store plus I have been a long time customer to this store so coupons arrive in our mailbox once in a while.

….. PINK panties and BBW lotion I got for free the other day with the use of coupons they sent me to our home address. That is $20 plus savings there for both items.

Great Deal on Clothing and Shoes at Old Navy Store

I’ve been back to Old Navy store twice already. It is not my habit to go back to the store and shop a lot of clothing but when I find real deep discounts on clothing and shoes for the kids, I wouldn’t mind driving there twice or more.

Last Friday last week, Old Navy had a promotion buy 2 clearance items get 1 free. That promo only lasedt for three days. I was able to avail that on Friday, bought quite a lot of slippers, boy shorts and some adult tops starting from 47 cents up to a little over $5. I spent only $27 plus that day plus I got a $10 Old Navy super cash certificate.

Yesterday I went back again and I was not disappointed. I found more awesome merchandise that are less than a dollar each. More shorts for the boys, slippers and slip on shoes for both girls and boys, some shorts for the girls at 47-97 cents. Imagine how amazing that is? Although the buy 2 get 1 free item promo has ended, I still think I got a good deal on my second haul. Some of which will be shipped to my relative in Oregon for she requested me to buy some for her siblings too.

…. photo below are just 97 cents per pair. Ever wonder why I  bought a lot of this? Well, they will go into my balik-bayan box to be sent to my brother and nephews in the Philippines.
