I’ve been back to Old Navy store twice already. It is not my habit to go back to the store and shop a lot of clothing but when I find real deep discounts on clothing and shoes for the kids, I wouldn’t mind driving there twice or more.
Last Friday last week, Old Navy had a promotion buy 2 clearance items get 1 free. That promo only lasedt for three days. I was able to avail that on Friday, bought quite a lot of slippers, boy shorts and some adult tops starting from 47 cents up to a little over $5. I spent only $27 plus that day plus I got a $10 Old Navy super cash certificate.
Yesterday I went back again and I was not disappointed. I found more awesome merchandise that are less than a dollar each. More shorts for the boys, slippers and slip on shoes for both girls and boys, some shorts for the girls at 47-97 cents. Imagine how amazing that is? Although the buy 2 get 1 free item promo has ended, I still think I got a good deal on my second haul. Some of which will be shipped to my relative in Oregon for she requested me to buy some for her siblings too.
…. photo below are just 97 cents per pair. Ever wonder why I bought a lot of this? Well, they will go into my balik-bayan box to be sent to my brother and nephews in the Philippines.
… shorts and t-shirts for my little brother, 47 cents each, a dollar for the t-shirts.
…. stylish little girls’ shoes for 97 cents, shorts 97 cents for the girls. I should say, boys shorts are 50 cents cheaper than girls and they are thick and comfy materials.
Here’s a good deal worth driving to CVS this week, a deal on vitamins with tons to choose from. Brands like CVS brand, nature made, nature bounty and Disney are buy one get one free! It is even better if you have manufacturer coupons and store coupon printed from the red machine last week to stack altogether. I got $4 off of $25 vitamin purchase for that and a $5 ecb along with a few manufacturer coupons.
These vitamins could easily cost me over $60 but with the use of coupons, I was able to save 75% of the price for all this. I am pleased with my shopping trip because I only paid $19.90 including tax for vitamins that could last for months, these are of course for me and for our girls.
Another deal I am aiming to avail this week is the Aveeno cleansing bars which will then give me $10 ecb back, no need for coupons for this. Hopefully when I go to the store on Saturday, there’ll be stocks left in the shelf before the promo ends.
How times fly fast! It’s the fourth day of 2016. It is hard to believe we are starting a new year again and tell you what? All of my Christmas decorations including the Christmas tree are put away up in the attic. Yes, that fast while I still have time to do it. I devoted a day yesterday to do all that to free up some space in our living room.
2015 has been a good and wonderful year for us! We are debt free and most of all I made sure to pay off all three of my credit cards before 2016 hits. Also, I avoided spending a penny on the first day of this year, I hope that brings good karma into our pockets for the entire year.
For the last 4 years, it was so difficult and tight for us financial-wise but this year and the coming years, I declare in the name of our Great Lord that there’ll be no more hardships that we cannot surpass!
Look what I found on DSW website? This is probably one of the cutest crossbody bags I own now. I love it’s hot pink color ( photo don’t show and don’t do justice) and the first pink color bag I bought.
Sometimes it pays to be patient and wait until you hit the deal. Before I could purchase this thing, I eyed on it for a few days and so wanted to buy it right away but had a hard time using my coupon certificate on their website so, that somehow, delayed me from checking this out. Well, the odd was in favor of me because two days after I itched buying it, DSW offered 25% off promo for their entire site including clearance or sale items and take note free shipping too. BOOM! How I liked that?
If I didn’t wait, I could have paid more for this item than the price I got it for. Imagine this crossbody bag retails from $39.99 and only paid $10 plus tax final price after site promo and a coupon certificate worth $20! Ain’t that sweet? I am happy because the thing I really want finally in my closet for a fraction of a price than what most people normally pay. It’s sooo cute and beautiful!
As we get into mid November, our temperature here in Texas continues to get cold each passing day. With that said, this chicken flavor porridge is perfect for this kind of cold and gloomy day or any soup that is warm. We, Filipinas, love the taste and how warm foods and soup make us feel on cold days.
This porridge is so easy to make although it can take 30-40 minutes to cook depending on what kind of rice you use to make it. If you prefer leftover cooked rice, then it is faster than what I usually do for I use rice grains to make a pot of porridge.
Just mince some garlic, some chicken strips and ginger, sautee them and add the rice and water. Boil under rice is cooked, add a knorr cube, ground pepper if you want it a bit spicy and some fish sauce. Garnish with cut onions. It is best eaten or paired with hard boiled eggs and eggrolls if available.
Okay, Thanksgiving is coming so soon. When that holiday comes, everyone seems to be busy… busy looking for deals, well, some might be truly busy preparing dishes for the entire family to share during that big day.
Stores however, are also trying to lure consumers to buy their products by sending sales ads to their e-mails, online advertisements on social media and other popular websites. They do this because they know people would buy and willing to spend money for things to give to their families during Christmas.
I can feel the hype and the urge to buy this and that even though honestly, I don’t need some of them. Why? Because the discounts and promos they’re sending me in my e-mail are so tempting and I thought, why not? They are discounted and affordable, anyway. Not just 5 but 10 or more store ads come every 2 minutes in my inbox and sometimes it can get annoying. I keep deleting them yet they keep coming back.
I don’t wanna put them to spam folder either for I am also interested what they have on their website, haha. Crazy me!
Here I am again showing off the stuff I got for free from my favorite lingerie/mists store, the Victoria’s Secret. It’s that time of year again when they give out secret rewards to their loyal customers worth $up to $500. Items below is worth over $50 have I paid them in full. Thanks to the freebie coupons and store promos, I was able to snag them all for just $10.82 and a secret reward card who knows how much. I get just $10, it is fine. It makes it all the more sweet once I redeem the card in December.
I am slowly collecting stuff for my little family in the Philippines for my box. I got two years to fill up a jumbo box so I am not in a hurry buying them if they are not cheap or for free. What for? Knowing I can snag items at cheap prices, there’s no sense wasting my money on them.
As usual, I am one happy customer here. Makes me come back to Victoria’s Secret stores again and again.
One of the many things I love eating is seaweeds. I grew up eating fresh seafood and seaweeds. It has iodine in it and other minerals that are beneficial to our body. With that said, trying out Korean or Japanese seaweeds are heavenly to me.
I remember when I first tasted Korean seaweed soup years ago, I thought it smelled strange and I did not like it much but then once I get used to it, I learned to love the soup. However, with Japanese seaweed, I loved it the moment I put some in my mouth. I just love the smell of sesame oil and seeds that’s in it.
So when we went to Korean store three weeks ago, I was happy to see seasoned Japanese seaweed also, I bought me two packs and I still have them in a jar these days, eating them slowly you know? Anyway, I found a a small jar of Japanese seaweed rice seasoning. I did not regret buying it for it makes my rice tastes good.
Sprinkle the rice with the seasoning, a spoonful of sesame oil, a bit of salt, a spoonful of apple cider vinegar and some sesame seeds, voila! I made myself some Japanese rice paired with pickled Korean cucumber, marinated fried milkfish and of course, Japanese seaweed. My meal is sooooo delicious that I can eat it forever!
Now is the perfect time to shop for clothes for you and your entire family especially for your kids. One of my favorite destinations to shop for clearance is Old Navy. When we say, clearance, their merchandise is truly marked down to like they almost give it away.
You just have to take your time and have patience when shopping for clearance. There are plenty to choose from and some of the mark down items are buried deep under the not so deal items. As temperatures get dropping down, stores are also getting rid of their previous merchandise so you really need to head on to your fave store and start shopping for next summer’s outfit.
As for my haul yesterday, I found quite a lot on women’s section to be cheap. Two of my favorite finds are the blue hound’s tooth dress for under $8 and a beautiful beige/faux snakeskin body bag which I love a lot. It was marked down half price off and so I grabbed it. If the bag was sold at less than $15 and it isn’t as beautiful as the one I’m wearing below, I would even bother spending my money on it. But man, when I laid eyes on it, thought this bag was gorgeous for half off price.
Other stuff I found was 47 cents women’s sleeveless shirts, 2 summer dresses for my 7 year old kid, one long sleeves and two other top for my mother which are under $2 each. I paid a little over $32 for everything plus a $10 Old Navy supercash good for next shopping trip.
I am happy with my haul and yes, would love to go back there again sometime soon.
Eating without soup isn’t complete, it is so dry and it is not as filling as with soup including in my meal. That is how I grew up. My mother used to cook vegetable stew a lot in almost every meal we had. With that said, now that I am an adult, I am used to having soup in my plate and kind of doing the same thing to my girls.
There are times I get busy with other things and I feel like having soup, what I do is try to invent something quick to satisfy my stomach. Here’s one of those easy and quick-fix bean sprout with tofu in miso soup.
First, you boil some water or vegetable stock, when water boils, pour in the miso paste and garnish, put tofu in, wait one minute then follow the bean sprout, season with salt and a bit of ground black pepper to taste, turn off heat quickly to avoid overcooking the bean sprout. Serve hot and don’t forget to garnish with scallion or green onions. Voila!
Making soup doesn’t need to be fancy. Just make use of what you already have in your fridge or pantry.
